PN for Research (Sensitive Data Projects)

The Office of Research and Innovation, Research Computing in the Office of Information Technology, and IT Security Office at Duke are working together to update support practices for the computational and data needs of Duke faculty, staff and students usingsensitive data for education and research. Current efforts are focused on envisioning a new collaborative service offering to replace the Protected Research Data Network (PRDN) where compliance with security requirements are a shared responsibility between offices supporting regulated/controlled research and the researchers engaged in these activities. Learn more about the design and features of the Protected Network (PN) for Research here.

We are nearing pilot and are currently seeking pilot participants. Our initial pilot is limited and will support standard computational needs with Duke collected sensitive data. While the pilot has limitations, it will serve as the foundation of our future service and we would love feedback in these early stages. Interested participants should email oitresearchsupport@duke.edu and request to be part of our mailing list.
